The West Australian Indian Film Council (WAIFC) acknowledges the Whadjuk Noongar people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our office is located and where much of our work is undertaken. We honour the knowledge, wisdom and storytelling traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, whose cultures represent some of the oldest continuing living cultures in the world. As an organisation dedicated to fostering cultural exchange and creative collaboration, WAIFC recognises the important role that storytelling plays in preserving identity, sharing knowledge and building understanding between peoples and communities. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples across Australia.
