Marketing Specialist

Own WAIFC's marketing end to end: campaigns, brand, digital and the storytelling behind a new Australia-India screen council.

Marketing & Comms
Perth, WA (hybrid)
Part-time, negotiable

About the role

WAIFC is building the creative bridge between Western Australia and India's screen industries. We run festivals, delegations, industry roundtables and partnership programs, and we are about to become a great deal more visible.

This is the first marketing hire. You will own how WAIFC shows up: the campaigns around our events, the brand as it matures, the digital channels, and the case we make to producers, partners and government on both sides of the Indian Ocean. You will work closely with the Board and a small volunteer team.

What you'll do

  • Plan and run marketing campaigns for WAIFC events, festivals and delegations
  • Own the website, email marketing and social channels day to day
  • Write and commission content: campaign copy, media releases, newsletters, event collateral
  • Brief and support the volunteer designers, photographers and writers
  • Build and maintain relationships with media, partners and community organisations
  • Track what works and report results to the Board

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated marketing experience across digital and campaign delivery
  • Strong writing, and the judgement to adapt tone across audiences
  • Hands-on comfort with email platforms, social scheduling and website CMS tools
  • The self-direction to work without a marketing department behind you

Nice to have

  • Experience in the screen, arts or cultural sector
  • Familiarity with the Indian screen industry or the Australian-Indian community
  • Working knowledge of Webflow and Mailchimp
  • Design skills in Canva, Figma or the Adobe suite

What you'll get

  • The chance to build a marketing function from scratch, not inherit one
  • Direct access to the Board, ambassadors and industry partners across two markets
  • Accreditation and access at WAIFC festivals and events
  • Flexible hours and hybrid working
